Search Holt

Most Holt adoptions follow a sequence such as this:
  • Request a preliminary information form, either by calling Holt's office, or by emailing your request for information to be sent to you. After submitting your preliminary application with $25 (non refundable), we will send you a formal application, guidebook, schedule of fees and a list of approved agencies for home studies.

  • After reviewing your application, we initiate a home-study. If you do not live in a state where Holt has a branch office then you will have to choose one of the Cooperating Agencies we have an agreement with in your home state. A social worker will discuss the adoption process with you.

  • When you have an approved homestudy and necessary documents, Holt and its associate agency will match you with a child. You will see a report and photo of the child. It is your decision whether or not to accept that child.

  • After you have accepted a child, Holt will assist in completing legal documentation. Your child may be escorted to you, or you may be required to go to the country to receive your child.

  • Holt will guide you in finalizing your child's adoption and applying for U.S. citizenship after your child arrives.
