Holt helped establish the Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF), Holt’s partner agency in the Philippines, in 1976. KBF works with many childcaring institutions throughout the Philippines helping children to have permanent families. KBF’s foster care programs provide attentive, family-like care promoting healthy development for children until they can be placed with permanent parents.
With headquarters in Manila, KBF advocates for children and at-risk families in many ways, including operating a single mothers shelter which offers a great deal of hope and opportunity for the young women regardless of whether they choose adoption or to parent their children.

Why adopt from the Philippines?
The children - Boys and girls between 3 - 5 years at placement. Children with special needs and older children may be 24 months - 7 years.
Reliable matching and child reporting process - The Inter-Country Adoption Board (ICAB), the Philippines' central authority, are the ones who match children with prospective adoptive families. ICAB is very professional, child-centered, has an excellent record, and does a good job of matching children with adoptive families. The Philippines has a thorough standardized child reporting system, thus typically providing families with good child information.
Reliable & established relationships - Holt has 30+ years of work experience in the Philippines and is well respected there. During most of this period (since 1975) Holt has worked with a professional and reliable associate agency, Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF), who also is well respected by ICAB, the American Embassy and others. KBF facilitates the smooth processing of adoption cases there.
Easy travel requirements - One 7 day trip required for one parent after completion of the adoption process and the child's visa has already been issued. In Manila, families are fully supported by on-site KBF staff during their stay in the Philippines.
