Holt, along with its partner, the Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF), have helped improve childcare and adoption practices in the Philippines since 1976. KBF works with childcaring institutions throughout the Philippines helping children to have permanent families. Our foster care programs provide attentive, family-like care promoting healthy development for children until they can be placed with permanent parents. KBF advocates for children and at-risk families in many ways, including operating a single-mother shelter that offers hope and opportunity for the young women regardless of whether they choose adoption or to parent their children.

The children - Boys and girls, 3 - 5 years old at placement. Older children and those with special needs may be 2 - 7 years old.

Reliable matching and child reporting process - The Philippines Inter-Country Adoption Board (ICAB), matches children with prospective adoptive families. Professional and child-centered, ICAB has an excellent reputation with adoptive families. The Philippines’ thorough, standardized child-reporting system, provides good information.

Reliable & established relationships - with over 30 years of work in the Philippines, Holt and KBF are well respected by Philippine child welfare authorities, ICAB and U.S. embassy staff. KBF facilitates smooth processing of adoption cases.

Easy travel requirements - One 7-day trip is required for one parent after completing the adoption process and the child's U.S. visa has been issued. Adoptive families are fully supported by on-site KBF staff during their stay in Manila.
