On May 23, 2001, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) introduced S 939, an amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act.
This bill would automatically confer U.S. citizenship on the adopted children of U.S. military and government employees who are stationed overseas.
